Akshar Mahotsav by The Calligraphy Foundation
*per head ₹499
The Calligraphy Foundation (TCF) invites and encourages you, the calligraphy fans and lovers to celebrate this year’s World Calligraphy Day with us and share your love for this art with the calligraphy community.
World Calligraphy Day was Founded by Pen Museum and Manuscript Pen Company in 2017 to unite all calligraphy enthusiasts and celebrate the art of calligraphy. The day is celebrated on the second Wednesday of August which happens to be on 10th of August this year.
TCF has been constantly working towards encouraging people to use pen, paper and ink. Moving in the same direction we are now collaborating with Delhi Technological University, New Delhi – Department of Design to celebrate this day as Akshar Mahotsav (Akshar = letter, Mahotsav = festival, which together stands as the festival of letters) and create awareness about this flourishing visual art form of writing. Through this event we are connecting with the calligraphy community and encouraging people across Delhi NCR to learn and showcase this art in their own style. We as a country are also celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. To contribute our part to this Amrit Mahotsav we have decided it as one of the themes of the event apart from emphasis on Indian scripts and calligraphers.
The program will include live demonstrations by various amazing artists in different scripts and mediums. There will also be workshops, engraving and live mural painting. And top all this we will also have various stalls of calligraphy products, food and good music. Keep an eye on the TCF socials for all the updates about the program.
We encourage you to spread word about the event and become a part of the first ever Akshar Mahotsav. We will soon announce all the different ways in which you can contribute to the festival and become an active part of it. To spread the awareness about the event you can use your social media channels and use the hashtags #aksharmahotsav #WorldCalligraphyDay and remember to tag @thecalligraphyfoundation , @aksharmahotsav in all your posts.
